Abbey Church Notices 20 March 2011
Abbey Church Notices as intimated on Sunday 20 March 2011
The Abbey BB Company wish to thank all those who supported last Friday’s belated Burns Supper initiative which resulted, states the Captain, in a ‘full house’ justifying thereby a repeat in January of next year.
The Nave Notice Board has details of Tern Television’s recording of a ‘Songs of Praise’ programme from Dunfermline Abbey for BBC Television, which programme is to be transmitted throughout the month of August on BBC1. The recording nights are Friday 15 April from 7-10 p.m. and Saturday 16 April from 5-8.30 p.m. and in order that the producers can plan the seating, they would be very grateful if you would let them know if you intend to come by adding your name to the list on the notice board and, if you are in a choir or are a singer, please indicate either S,A,T or B (soprano, alto, tenor or bass) against your name. That initiative, note, will involve people from other churches in the Dunfermline area so, if you wish to take part, be sure to put your name on that list now!! The Nave Notice Board has, in addition, details anent Abbey Elder Roseann Haig’s Circle of Comfort charity’s promotion of ‘A Royal Celebration’ scheduled to take place at Broomhall, the residence of the Earl and Countess of Elgin, on Thursday 28 April (on the eve, that is, of the royal wedding) commencing at 7 for 7.30 p.m. Consult the poster for additional details.
All Abbey Elders to note that the Kirk Session will meet on Thursday evening of this week first in the Abbey Church at 7 p.m. in order to approve a fabric matter and thereafter in the church halls for regular business.
Intending worshippers next Sunday should note that British Summer Time begins at midnight on Saturday when clocks should be put forward one hour.
